It is the dream of every mother and father to have children that are successful. For Muslims, this means success in being happy and living a fulfilling life, through first and foremost the worship of God alone and doing righteous works, and then finding happiness in a career and relationships. Sometimes, the effects of our efforts and prayers are not realised in our lifetime or we don’t live long enough to see the results. On the day of harvest, they would get first choice. What remained would then be sold or kept for his family. His sons disliked this practice. They kept thinking of all the money they were losing. One day, the old man died. His sons inherited his farm. Their mindset was very different.
